Twelve-year-old Jonas is trained by his mentor, The Giver, to become the receiver of memory. Jonas lives in a society built upon sameness. As he experiences the power of knowledge, Jonas grows to understand the significance of individuality and the importance of ethics. Discussions with the artists before and after the performances are part of the two-actor adaptation of Lois Lowry’s 1994 Newbery Medal-winning science fiction novel.
