This musical revue is based on a collection of storybook tales from children’s literature chosen for being relevant to a broad and diverse young audience. Some themes and ideas covered include little creatures are important and can make big contributions (Diary of a Worm), important contributions can be made even when you’re not the center of attention (Lilly’s Big Day), and pesky fleas help to reveal hidden talents and achieve greatness (Fluffy the Classroom Guinea Pig). In Horace & Morris but Mostly Dolores, boys and girls can be friends together; adventure is fun, but home is really best in How I Became a Pirate; If You Give a Pig a Pancake turns a small request into an endless series of other requests; and The Paper Bag Princess shows if you believe in yourself, you don’t have to wait for Prince Charming to save the day.
