WAGE PAYROLL POSITIONS

Arts Engagement Assistant - Internship

The Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) in the College of Arts and Architecture (University Park, PA) is looking Arts Engagement Assistantsto join our Engagement Team to select artists that will engage and entertain their peers, promote events, support engagement activities, and co-facilitate the CPA Student Advisory Council. The successful candidates will be supervised by the Student Arts Engagement Manager and work alongside the CPA departments to curate and promote performances and artistic engagement events that build a culture of creativity and belonging through transformative arts and culture experiences.  Interns will work between 5 to 7 hours per week. Federal Work-Study is not required.

Arts Ticket Center Assistants

Contact Keith Braindard, customer service supervisor, with questions.

Responsibilities include selling tickets, answering phones, and other general office duties. Requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a multitask environment. Some evening and weekend hours are required, but flexible daytime hours offer a balance between classes and work. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. All students, please include your class schedule (class times only) in lieu of a cover letter when applying. Positions are available at the Eisenhower Auditorium box office.

Events Office Assistants

Assist with daily office work. Computer skills are required. Duties include room set-ups, filing, answering phones, errands, and miscellaneous duties. Also, assist in the areas of artist hospitality and activities related to visiting artists and performing arts events. Daytime hours available. Successful candidates must be current Penn State students. Completion of a Penn State employment application and submission of a current class schedule are required.

Front-of-House Event Staff

Contact Kelly Kaiserian with questions.

This position is casual part-time employment and requires mostly evening and weekend availability. Duties include welcoming and directing patrons, lobby and conference room set-up, scanning tickets, staffing concessions locations, and assisting with volunteer usher management. Successful candidates must be current Penn State students who have or wish to develop excellent communication and customer services skills. Scheduling for work is dependent on employee availability and event needs. Completion of a Penn State employment application and submission of a current class schedule are required.

Stage Crew

These positions are responsible for the immediate production needs of artists and presenters who use production management services.

  • Scheduling is event-driven, and no regularly scheduled hours or shifts are available.
  • Applicants must have at least one weekday morning or afternoon free of other commitments and frequent evening and weekend availability.
  • The position requires frequent physical labor.
  • The position also requires the ability to follow directions and successfully work as a team member.
  • No experience required; we will train on the job.

Community Service

Contact Medora Ebersole with questions.

Work with the community and education programs manager for up to 10 hours per week including occasional weekend and evening hours on the design and execution of varied activities and established programs inspired by the performances on our season in order to benefit the community, promote social responsibility, and enhance educational experiences for pre-K through 12. Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lift 35 lbs is required. Please include your class schedule (class times only) with your application.

A Federal Work-Study Program grant is necessary for employment. You must have confirmation of a work-study grant to apply. The Office of Financial Aid will work with you to determine your eligibility.
