Singers from Penn State, local high schools and a historically Black university will celebrate the influence and inspiration of human-rights champion Martin Luther King Jr. The event, “A Choral Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” will be at 4 p.m.

“Your depth of community has filled our hearts. Your passion for the arts has made us feel at home. And your dedication to the future (while honoring the past) has filled us with hope,” artist-historian Michael Mwenso said.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State aims to make the performing arts more affordable for families with the creation of a program.

Tickets for “A Choral Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” are available for purchase. Singers from Penn State, local high schools and a historically Black university will celebrate the influence and inspiration of human-rights champion Martin Luther King Jr. in the concert at 4 p.m.

The Soweto Gospel Choir will return to Penn State with a new concert commemorating the freedom movements in two countries.

The exuberant vocal ensemble will perform “Hope: It’s Been a Long Time Coming” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in Eisenhower Auditorium.
