An Evening with Sutton Foster

7:30 pm Saturday, February 15, 2014

Sutton Foster, one of Broadway’s brightest young stars, makes her Eisenhower Auditorium debut in a Valentine’s weekend concert with her trio. Foster, who won Tony Awards for outstanding actress in the musicals Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie, has performed in ten Broadway shows. The celebrated actor, singer, and dancer originated roles in the Broadway productions of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein, and Shrek the Musical. Foster also starred in the ABC Family series Bunheads. She’s made guest appearances on a variety of TV shows, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Flight of the Conchords, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Sesame Street. As a concert artist, Foster performs across the United States and abroad with her music director Michael Rafter. She’s graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, Feinstein’s, Joe’s Pub, and many other venues. Foster has released two solo albums, Wish and An Evening with Sutton Foster: Live at the Café Carlyle. The Penn State performance features popular and show tunes from her CDs, plus selections from the Broadway productions in which she has starred.
